FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I can't wait to meet you! In your first session, we will review privacy laws, confidentiality, practice policies, and the therapeutic process. We will explore what brings you to therapy and what you would like to gain from counseling, and you'll be able to ask any questions you have about counseling and moving forward. We will work together to fully understand your areas of concern and start to develop goals and a plan to meet those goals.
If you're bringing your minor teen to therapy, we will all meet together to identify issues and goals as one team, before I meet with just your teen. Throughout the therapeutic process, parents and I will touch base about progress and concerns, and I may request one-on-one sessions with you in order to help support the work I'm doing with your child.
What can I expect in my first session?
I see clients virtually via secure telehealth, and will begin providing in-person sessions in Summer/Fall 2025 in midtown Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Where do you see clients?
For cash-pay and out-of network clients, the rate for a standard session is $125. Services are qualified for paying with flex reimbursement (FSA) and health savings accounts (HSA).
Out-of-network clients, see "I have insurance but I'm not in network" below.
What are your rates?
I am in network with Aetna, Cigna, Evernorth, and BlueCross BlueShield. Confirming insurance benefits before the first session is the responsibility of the client. You will need to provide your insurance card as part of new client paperwork. After the session, any applicable out-of-pocket expenses will be collected and your insurance company will be billed.
Out-of-network clients, see "I have insurance but not in network" below.
Can I use insurance?
If your plan offers reimbursement for out-of-network (OON) providers, I can provide a superbill. I have partnered with Mentaya, a service that streamlines getting reimbursed for your therapy sessions through out-of-network benefits. Mentaya helps clients with OON benefits receive up to 80% back on therapy. Mentaya charges a 5% fee per claim, which includes handling any paperwork required, dealing with denials, and calling insurance companies. They guarantee that claims are successfully submitted, or a full refund of their fees.

Please reach out for help verifying your OON reimbursement rate. I'm happy to work with you to keep therapy affordable.
I have insurance but not the ones you're in network with. Can I still use it?
When using insurance, there are some limitations on receiving services. Whether or not you have insurance, you can choose to pay for counseling yourself ("private pay"/"cash pay") in order to be free from these limitations. With private pay:
-
A mental health diagnosis is not required to receive services, meaning that personal issues and problems can be addressed that would otherwise not be covered by insurance.
-
Your personal information has greater privacy because it does not have to be shared with your insurance company.
-
There are no restrictions on the number or length of sessions.
-
We have greater flexibility in setting your goals and utilizing interventions rather than being restricted by insurance.
What are the benefits of private pay?
Click here to schedule your first session and provide some details about the care you're looking for. Consent forms will be emailed to you to complete. Please complete these forms at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. Not completing all required forms by this time will result in the appointment being cancelled, and you'll have to schedule a new appointment.
If you'd like a call before scheduling, don't hesitate to reach out at 918.770.4645.
I'm interested. How do I get started?
I have extensive training in DBT, CBT, ACT, IFS, and trauma-informed approaches, and use them frequently in therapy.
-
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) helps individuals work towards reducing distress, mindlessness, and overpowering emotional reactions. It also aims to improve our relationships with others and ourselves through changing unhelpful behavior patterns.
-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is effective in treating lots of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, substance use, and relationship difficulties. Our thoughts influence how we feel, which then affect how we act or behave. With CBT, we'll work together to identify any unhelpful thought patterns you have, and then challenge them with more helpful ways of thinking.
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) aims to help people accept the kinds of things are out of our control. Once we've done that, ACT involves committing to actions that will help us to move in a positive direction, and working towards a meaningful and values-driven life.
-
Internal Family Systems (IFS) holds a core principle that we are all individuals made up of different "parts," and that in order to heal, we need to build healthy relationships with all of those "parts" of us: those we like and those we don't. The more comfortable we become with our internal systems, the healthier our external systems become.

Trauma-Informed therapy is not about a specific intervention but rather tailoring interventions in the context of the individual’s trauma history, triggers, and specific needs. It is a lens through which I view my clients, taking into account the impact of trauma on emotions, regulation, and behavior, and considering the effects of intergenerational trauma. For trauma processing, I am trained in the trauma processing models Written Exposure Therapy (WET) and DBT-Prolonged Exposure (DBT-PE).
