GROUP ENROLLMENT PROCESS

You can sit with us.
Here's how getting started with a group works.

Connect with your group therapist

In this 10-15 minute phone call, your group therapist will learn more about your needs, answer all your questions, and make sure it's a good fit for the group.

3.

Complete your paperwork and intake session

Your group therapist will set up your client portal, where you'll complete the necessary paperwork and schedule an intake appointment. In your intake appointment, your group therapist will go over group policies with you and let you know what to expect in group.

Fill out the interest form on the page for the group you're interested in, or general contact page here if you're not sure which one will be the best fit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Teen groups are limited to six people per group; adult groups are capped at eight people. Spaces in each group are limited so that members feel safe and have plenty of opportunity to share and connect with each other and their group leader. Due to limited space, enrollment preference is given to members that can commit to the entire length of the group.

How big are groups?

Group members are required to sign a Group Agreement upon enrolling in group therapy. This agreement covers specific confidentiality measures, including protecting the anonymity of all participants when discussing the group and being in a private location for the group session.

How do you protect the privacy of group members?

While some clients benefit from doing both individual and group therapy at the same time, others may choose one or the other depending on their immediate needs. If you are currently seeing a therapist, ask them to give you their professional opinion based on what they know about you. If you are engaged in individual DBT therapy, adding on a skills group is a great choice, and a requirement for DBT Intensive clients.

If I'm already in individual therapy, should I do group therapy?

While I do not take insurance for group sessions, you may be eligible to use out-of-network (OON) benefits to request reimbursement by your insurance company, depending on your specific insurance plan. (BCBS clients are unable to request OON reimbursement for group sessions.) Contact your insurance company (or use Mentaya to do it for you) to see if you have out-of-network benefits, and what they apply to. Some insurance companies will reimburse you for 60-80% of the cost of each session after your deductible is met.

Intake appointments for new clients: If you have insurance and are in network, your intake session will be billed to insurance; otherwise, the intake appointment is $150. This is the only session that will be billed to insurance.

Can I use insuance for group therapy?

How much does group therapy cost?

The price of a group therapy session is $35/session. If finances are a barrier to getting the help you need, a limited number of low-fee and sliding scale options may be available for those who need them.
